Thought I'd pop in here with my view on the weekend. In previous years I always took with me a pile cd's of wartime music. I happen to like that sort stuff, I should have been born earlier. I am ten years younger than my brother, my mother was always telling me I was a mistake. Perhaps that explains my paranoia! But I digress.
Thus it was in the early days that I happily had the time to wallow in bliss with the likes of Al Bowlly and Flanagan and Allen. Not this time however, such was the continuous live performances that I only managed to play three tracks.
There is no doubt that the Hellfire Corner Weekend has grown into a splendid event.
I take no credit for the organising of it, I just turn up on the day and do my bit. I won't single out any committee member, they work seamlessly as a team and it all comes together. More power to their collective elbows.
Mike McFarnell has put up a short piece on the web, it really only hints at what happened but nevertheless is worth looking at:-

There is one sour note however, the previous weekend I was at the Pageant. During the clear up at the end some kind person nicked a cable drum and my tub with things like gaffer tape and odd tools in it. In all about £150. It made me rather despondent.
I have a damn good idea who did it but can't prove it.
