No Vic. that is Archcliffe Gate that is visible above - also sadly demolished in the 1960s as well as the hospital
Amazingly the funeral was quite a regular occasion and the parade 'normal'. One occasion was when Seaman James Martin was killed in 1909 when he fell off the Prince of Wales ship when it was moored against the Prince of Wales Pier (he fell and hit his head on a camel!!) He had a similar parade and is sadly buried in an unmarked grave at charlton cemetery
