Oy Howard I feel a slap coming on,I realise that Richard Digance is not everyone's cup of tea and yes it was a while ago when he was at his peak, but we are doing something new in this town. What disappoints me is that people have a go (not you Howard you can't help it) and say nothing is going on then when you put something on they either don't turn up or moan about the cost.
I have often said that you can put things on in Dover for free and people moan about it and want their money back.
For the record 75% of the top price tickets have gone 10% of the cheaper tickets there are 450 tickets are available and I have pushed and pushed this even though the papers have not printed the latest press release. again so 120 tickets have gone luckily we only need 130 to make it pay, then a different clause comes in and it splits the profits in Richard's favour.
So do we continue to bring new shows to Dover?
Yes I know there are weeks to go,but I would say to anyone who hasn't heard of Richard Digance give him a go he is very dry but is brilliant at nostalgic comedy
he will remind you of your childhood and his songs are funny.Someone who contacted me from Folkestone(and we have more people from there than Dover, isn't that awful) said that if this show was at the Leas Cliff it would be sold out by now.
It is over to you people of Dover to support it or lose it.....Rant over.
