Yesterday afternoon my wife's car was hit from behind at the junction of Townwall Street & Wellesley Road. It was hit with such impact that the car was shunted out into Townwall Street and the path of oncoming HGVs from the port; although shaken and quite upset, there was no injury to either my wife or mother-in-law, but the car is in a bit of a mess, yet still driveable. In order to get the car out of the way of the busy Townwall Street traffic my mother-in-law drove around the block to get back onto Wellesley Road, but by the time she got back the car that hit her had driven off; my wife went to Ladywell Police Station and reported what had happened, but as yet the driver of the other car has not come forward.
So, if anyone knows of a black car with shocking pink hub caps and front end damage, or if anyone spots such a car in town, I would very much appreciate it if you could note the registration plate and send it to me in confidence to
fabric@thefabricfairy.co.uk so that I can forward the details to the Police. Not the least of my concerns was that the offender left two distressed ladies in situ without checking to see if either had been hurt.
Thanks.
