Bloomin shame but it just has not kept up with this digital age. I wonder if we will have any high street shops left in 50 yrs time?!

Is it due to changes on the High Street, or Management not being flexible enough to change as demand changes ?
Many High Street chains survive and thrive because they encompass the web and internet shopping - as well as getting the retail price right of course.
I always thought that they (HMV) have a good range but the CDs abnd DVDs were pretty expensive; maybe their sourcing was bad.

I think £12 to £15 is expensive for a CD - I wouldn't pay that for a DVD.

HMV are great for their DVD and CD deals and offers, but the stuff in the chart is way too expensive.

People order CD's and DVD's online or download stuff now. It will be a shame, another institution that I grew up with like Woolworths gone.

downloading is a major issue of course but maybe hmv erred in just having very large stores in major shopping centres, many out of town?
bearing in mind that many of the people we see buying cd's are very young, public transport fares would be a large put off, easier to buy online if there is not a local shop.

I would have thought that younger people do downloads, older people buy CDs.

I used to buy dvd's from HMV by post up to about two years ago. I moved to Amazon because of a larger range and more prompt delivery. As to the shops, their filing/display system was haphazard to say the least.

It is obvious our High Streets are suffering. In Dovers case the `High Streets`` are too long and too spread out.
The number of shops we have are not sustainable. We should adopt David Hannets ```Lanes```
ps the shops can return to being dwellings ...much nicer....
