    DTC PRESS INFORMATION *****

    "How safe do you feel?"

This is your chance to have your say and let your feelings be known
A new initiative to improve public safety is to be launched in Dover Town Centre on Saturday the 1st November. The Town Centre Safety Partnership brings together Town Councillors, police, PCSOs, Shopwatch and CCTV and is supported by Dover Town Council.

Residential areas have PACT (police and community together) groups but not the Town.

This group will cover the business area from York Street, De Bradelei Wharf, Maison Dieu Road, Castle Street and the High Street up to Tower Hamlets junction.
A notice board is being placed in the YMCA shop window with contact details for all the partners and will feature extra information on issues the group are looking at. To find out what they need to prioritise members of the group will be outside the shop on the 1st November from 10 am to 12 to ask the public how safe they feel in the town and why.

    Councillor Jan Tranter explains....

"the objective of this partnership is to identify and tackle specific safety issues which affect people when they come into town shopping or in the evening for a meal. From these questionnaires we can target our joint resources at the things which the public tell us have the most impact on them"
