I should have posted on this sooner but here goes. Been busy
After reading all of the postings about the play ground and various other sites concerning yoberizm and drinking.........this happened.
Last Saturday, mid afternoon a man and a woman sat down at the bottom of Limes road on the Barton path steps, She had a bottle of water and he a can of beer they had obviously bought on Cherry tree ave.
They sat and had a chat and a drink. No problem.
Then up pulls a police car.
I did not hear the conversation and nothing was heated but the can of beer was emptied by the police and the couple told to move on.
HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET.
The amount of times the police have been called to drunken louts making a lot of noise, p*****g up the walls and god knows what else, this has to happen.
Have they got their priorities right? The mind boggles.

Ian there should not be any drinking of beer E.T.C. in the streets even if it is only one kids see it and the next thing they are doing it as well, I saw tonight on the way home about 12 kids of both sexs drinking beer in the street they were about 14years old and they had two boxs of it.
I rest my case.

It's about sense - the difference between a group of people having a quiet drink at tables outside a pub or at a picnic in the park and an out of control group of people creating a problem. It's about the letter of the law being used effectively instead of to meet targets. And it's about whatever is the purpose of the Law anyway? If it's to protect and serve (us) or to produce evidence for further funding...........

Thank you Howard, that was the answer I was looking for, THE EASY OPTION.
Why bother with 20 drunken Blimps when you can pick on a decent couple who are not going to complain. and keep your nick rate up to date.
THE SYSTEM STINKS.......

another example ian.
the authorities put down yellow lines in my road a few months back, great idea.
this means that the hourly bus, the argos van, the general commercial vehicles can go about their business unimpeded.
not that simple.
the parking people do not visit during the week, they appear on a sunday morning very early.
people come back on a saturday night park up sensibly, sometimes transgressing a yellow line, but knowing that they are not causing an obstruction.
they then rise from their pit on sunday morning, ready for a leisurely breakfast, and find the dreaded ticket under the wipers.

I do understand the original posting but howard yur posting on double yellow lines not quite correct, these were advertised locally and anyone could have objected(and didnt)
and realy it was to make where you live safer
So I don't want to be a kljoy here but that bit double yellows were needed but no one objected
but Ian your original comments I DO understand
I'm with Howard on this one!!

Hey..if you are talking about left over paint drive or walk up towards the castle and see the bloody stupid idiotic cycle lanes. They run for about a yard or 2 then stop and then start again.A complete waste of council time and our council tax money.
I wish I could show the photos of how stupid they look but I am sure someone has them...

yes I see your posting, its down to traffic wardens to enforceparking attendants fink there called these days)
but is Belgrave part of the District councils area to enforce? Sue/john may help? there was a car parking strategy being worked on, don't know if there were any results.

i was one of the people that bored the council to death demanding double yellows.
the point is that they are not in the places that people want them most.
they were needed in belgrave road for obvious reasons, but the authorities ignore the problems during the week.
on a sunday, when it is not important to implement them, the attendants arrive!!!
