Mywife and myself are having a great time geting out and about this last few weeks we was in the Midlands and then down to cornwall some 3weeks ago and next wek see,s us back in the midlands in fact Stoke and Birmingham.
I did post that we was going to see the Nothern Lights soon.well it is happing next week ,tHIS IS OUR ITINERARY FOR THAT EVENT.
We are first going to have a 60minute presentstion about the night sky and the Northern Lights by our guest Astronomer Pete Lawrence of the "BBC at Night"TV progamme all so there will be expert Nigel Bradbury,Paul Money, Pete Lawrence.
This is all done at the Manor Hotel at Meriden.
After that we are all off the the airport to board our aircraft for what is called "The flight to the Stars.
The flight will last for 3hours, we will head Northwards,as directly as possible usually over Aberdeen and the Shetland Isles, to a point in the Noth Atlantic beween the UK and Icelandic airspace.
During the flight ,the cabin lights will be dimmed, for you to watch the Northern lights display, and passengers will be required to rotate seats so that everyone will have window seat at various times throughout the flight. Our astronomers will also be on board, guiding us though a star studded sky, so rarely seen though the polluted skies of Britain.Aso on board will be light refreshments which is in the cost of the fight.
We both are looking forward to going on this very much we have been told to take binoculars and a small mirror to hold against the window to increase our viewing ability .
they do have a dedicated website in which their astronomers display their images from the flights. The webb site is
