What a super post from John, there - absolutely spot on. I get the distinct impression that the Tory party sees UKIP as some spoilt child constantly nagging for something they won't get. But the issue won't go away just because they want it to - membership of the EU costs the UK £48m per day. PER DAY!!!!

And for that, we cow tow to our European masters for whom Great Britain is just a small island that rocks the boat over EU unity- thank God for us, I say. I see the Chancellor has announced that the department in the Treasury that existed solely to prepare the UK for entry into the Euro has been abolished in favour of something 'more profitable'; whilst I am more than delighted about that, I am astonished that the last Labour government felt it appropriate not to tell anyone that a department existed with the sole aim of further erosion of Britain and our way of life. If ever I doubted my own commitment to anti-EU politics............
