I have asked on the other forum but I thought I would ask on this forum:
I am looking for information about two cottages that were in the grounds of the old isolation hospital. It would be nice to know the address,& maybe who used to live there. I should imagine that is was for staff members who worked for the hospital.
Any information would be good.

Isolation Hospital 1956 - directories only list main staff like Matron, Medical Supt, Deputy Med Supt etc so may be for them ?
Been nice knowing you :)

Roger, as you know my wife was the last operational Sister for the Isolation Unit until its beds were transferred to Churchill Ward at Buckland- with staff. Prior to her appointment the beds were managed by a Sister Strawbridge who lived in part of the accomodation you have identified- until she retired.
Other parts of the accomodation were used by the Surgical House Officer for the Eye Block & medical staff from Buckland usually the surgical Registrar. Not sure about one of the Asst. Matrons as well.

Ah! the redoubtable Miss Bangham, who could forget her. She did in fact live in Folkestone in The Radnor Park area.
In 1939 it was A.B. McMaster - Medical Supt, T.J. Nicholl - his deputy and Miss Holloway - Matron.
As an aside, the original gates are now between Biggin Hall and the Town Hall.

Hi, my mother who is 96 and originally Martin and she was one of the children during the pandemic to catch measles. Unfortunately, she was quite ill and had to come down to the Isolation hospital. She remembers that she shared her measel with the Nurses and that her Aunt lived opposite the hospital in one of the cottages. Her name then was Betty Walter
