    AS a football referee i came across many friends(yes other refs lol) but one story that keeps a grip on your life is the one below;

    A fellow ref who was approx 25 and used to ref 4 or 5 games a week, very active chappie, in his social time he was driving his car out of the road leading to crabble hill by the traffic lights.
    A car flashed its lights coming down the road, which he presumed meant he could pull out onto that part of the road, sadly it was a foreign driver and the 2 cars hit head on.

    This young lad now is in a Wheelchair, unable to feed himself, unable to do anything for himself.

    All very very sad to see him when i visited him in Denmark hill hospital, on a revolving bed.

    All very very sad, to see such an active chappie, now unable to be active.
    But it shows that we may all have probs, but it brings me back to earth.
