'DISNEY MAGIC' cruise ship certainly lived up to the name. The 'Magic' has been with us laid up since mid May but 'finally' departed yesterday providing the full chorus of 'wishing on a star' as she left through the eastern entrance due (according to AIS) for the NAB anchorage off the Isle of Wight where several other cruise liners are 'resting'. She has been a welcome sight in Dover over the past weeks and it was sad to see her leave. There must have been a few 'wishes' in the air as she left as it was not very likely she would grace our port again for some time. Low and behold the spell worked! Having gone down channel as far as Worthing she turned about and returned to Dover, obviously missing us and our historic white cliffs.
Here she is returning across the harbour
The other musical chairs of ships that have come and gone (or stayed) over the past few days are:
'MAJESTY of the SEAS'
'CARNIVAL BREEZE'
with 'socially distancing' water slides
'AURORA'
And just for good measure
Deepocean's 'MEARSK CONNECTOR' (Cable laying utility vessel)
complete with helicopter landing deck and crew (is that a 'selfie' I see there)
