Moving to CET does not remove the moving clocks forwards/backwards at the start/end of daylight saving time

CET is really Berlin time and was imposed on occupied Europe by the Nazis in WW2, prior to that most of the western European nations used GMT (France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands etc.), sadly after the war it was easier to stay on the time people had become used to rather than revert to the "old ways".
