Our much loved member Jhg has nearly completed his fundraising walk. I have been in contact with him and he has done 69 miles as of last night and today has only 15 miles to complete. He has very sore peeling feet yet he is cheerful and has enjoyed the experiance.

As of about an hour ago John was just coming in to Newcastle. Bet he'll be glad to get back to Dover and put his feet up!
Tony, Having been to Newcastle myself, I suspect that John would be pleased to get back to anywhere....

You mean he's coming back?

Bob #5 ...even to Dover? With the slating this beautiful town gets from so many people he may be just as well staying up there
Tony. Point taken.
However to the best of my knowledge Dovorians have chosen their lifestyle rather than being condemned to second class citizenship by being born with an incomprehensible accent.

Hi everyone I am back! Thanks to everyone who text me during the walk especially Mel who kept me smiling. What can I say its a bl**dy long way,and I kept a little diary so I will put it on here to show you my progress. It really is a beautiful walk especially the middle section, but I am convinced those romans were sadists, and I met Gordon Brown who walked with me for 3 days. Not the Gordon Brown but a Gordon Brown from Staffordshire and he is a UKIP supporter although after I stood on his feet a few times I changed his mind.
So in a while when I caught up I hope you don't mind reading my little Hadrian's Wall blog.

Oh yes the other thing I love Carlisle and Newcastle but the thought of coming back to Dover helped during the walk,in fact some of the people I met are hoping to come down soon

Congratulations John - very well done.
I guess your feet must be very sore, so rest a while - or are you going out canvassing/deleverying these last few days ?
Take care John - a great cause.
