  a few years ago KCC members awarded them selves an increase in their allowances .Now they find themselves searching round to save money.The latest not funding Youth Services .At DDC I recall we had to have a cut in our allowances .The leader stated at that time we cannot expect to raise the council tax unless we councillors set a good example Here was the KCC member telling us youth clubs will not be funded.They have allowed County Hall to be neglected .KCC has always be run by the Conservatives .I have watched their meetings and the opposition members try to amend some policies but always outvoted.Some KCC members very rarely speak .its time for a change at County Hall.

  Just a small correction Sus, KCC hasn't always been tory led.
  
  But wi t h stitched up boundary changes agreed by tory and Labour the Tories now hav e a big majority .
  
  So it will always be much the same sadly

  Well.....the OP ...Sus....did not do much when around DDC.....maybe some of the hats were acceptable....but naughty behaviour!!
  
  Now we have a local change to Labour.......... and still nothing happens....maybe local government should be none political...............no ego's....just for the local good....

  Local councils should be non political , but how do you stop political parties standing ?
  
  Also we have already seen many so called independents , are actually Tories so not really indy .
