    Actually the Town councillors can claim £450 allowance bought in some years ago ( wont say who by ) but Having voted against it I decided to take it and redistribute it myself to the Town. I am sure none of you begrudge me ( oh yeh! ) but when you spend a day a week on Council business then the expenses of parking and buying stuff for events and prizes and sponsorship etc are far more. I haven't mentioned it as a recompense for salary as that is what I dont believe in.

    This is a thorny subject but one which all should have a say. As a Councillor I am happy to be checked - but on the other side I also believe that I have a duty to work at the job. If I didnt then I would not claim anything. it isnt a fee!

    By the way other parishes do the same ...
