The Kent Miners Festival is well on its way and is being very well supported, even though it has not yet been announced in local media. That will happen very shortly now and I am sure it will grow even larger. The main focus of the festival will be the Mining Exhibitions. The National Coal Mining Museum for England is touring Kent in July & August 09 and will be on show at our Festival on the 31st August 09 Fowlmead Park. All the Mining areas will be putting on their own exhibitions and all TC's & PC's are welcome to have a stall or put on an exhibition for themselves, to show the people of Kent and beyond, what a lovely part of the country we live in and what we all have to offer these visitors.
It will be an educating day out but it will also be a fun day out for all the Family, along the lines of the old Mining Gala's. A list of displays and attractions will soon be forthcoming and you and your families are all welcome to come along and enjoy a day to remember, a day that we hope will be an annual event.
We very much want to involve the youth of our area to help and be involved in organising this event so, any person, or organisation, who wish to take part or help in anyway or just want some information, please contact me Gary on

PS. Has any one got any large tents we can borrow for a day, or hire cheaply?
Thank You.
