The problem locals have is that Dover has had an extraordinary amount of money gifted to it over the last few years. Probably more than any other town in the UK. This money could have been used to greatly improve local services and amenities. In other words useful stuff which would benefit locals and improve the perception of the town.
What the council have done is waste it on white elephants which have no local support and time and time again we are spun the line 'we have to do it otherwise we won't get the money'.
Anyway I am going to spend my day looking at the rings in market square, walk down the marina curve shops, restaurants and hotel, visit the war memorial and open air theatre, visit the Dame Vera memorial, ride the cable car and then wait for a fast track bus to go look at some new builds.
