    I would love to Roger....

Anyway back to the kit. Had a little time last night to do the Sky underside coat and here is the pic.

I am not sure how well it comes out on the photo but the pre-shading provides a tonal variation around the panel lines and I then enhanced that a little more by adding a spot of white to the base colour, thinned it down and sprayed the centre of the panels.

Because I am depicting an aircraft from June 1940, before the Battle of Britain, based in southern England I want a very subtle weathering effect. At that time the ground crews would have had a little more maintenance time than they had a month or so later when the Battle was under way. That contrasts with the more severe weathering of my previous Spit and the Bf109 that operated in demanding desert conditions. Nevertheless that is not the end of the weathering for the underside, I will be doing a 'dirt wash' in a later stage which will bring up the panel lines plus some wear and tear with smoke and oil staining as well.

Next though is the top two colour camo and that will be done in two stages, first I will mask up to protect the undersides then spray the Dark Earth. Not until Saturday though, 11.11 first!
