Terry I didnt realise this has been cancelled...Last year it provided a few very nice picture opportunities ...gorgeous coloured kites against a blue sky backdrop, you couldnt miss with the photos. But while i was there and it was earlier in the day...there was almost nobody at all at the event. Whether attendance figures picked up later in the day or not I dont know but if they didnt then that could be the reason.
Wasnt this part of the then Festival of Dover?

I wondered what was happening, or not as it turns out, so I checked the South East Kites website and was surprised to see it was cancelled. It was quite busy in the afternoons Paul and the feedback that I got from those taking part was extremely good. If that is the case Sheila then it's a pity.
Kiting folk are very fussy and I think Scotchie's suggestion of the Western Heights would be too windy for them.

The Western Heights was classed as not suitable, to many trees, the original venue is perfect, except for the entry, this could not be done in time for this years event, and was too expensive, that is why it was cancelled, we are having to look at other ways of dealing with the matter in time for next year
