    I think Jeane's is a standard 7-spot. Scotchie's not sure....it could very well be one of the nasty Harlequins but it's very hard to tell from the photo as some of our native species have black forms (inc. the 2 spot). If it was substantially larger than our seven spot I think that's probably it. Where did you take it? I saw loads at Laureston Place and Connaught Park last year.

    There is indeed a Bryony Ladybird, it's a small red Ladybird with black spots. You can find images of it and the other native types on this excellent website, well worth bookmarking if interested:
