  turned out that the reindeers were locked away, the elves got into a row and to top it all someone punched santa.
  
  
  i do not think i have laughed so much in a long time.
  
  
  there was a case in liverpool some years back when a santa from a store had a really bad day and adjourned to a licenced establishment in order to unwind.
  inevitably some banter took place and it all ended up on the pavement outside with santa beating up two of the patrons of the aforesaid public house.
  unfortunately a group of primary school children with teachers happened to pass at the time that the police arrived
  when santa was dragged kicking and screaming into the van.
  
  the top man later made a great statement along the lines of "children have been taken away for counselling".
