There seems to be lots going in in preparation for the weekend. Snoops is being tarted up, the urine is being washed out of the underpass and the seafront is closed as they start setting up the stalls. Despite all this it still feels as if the town is disconnected from the events.
It struck me that bunting strung in Biggin Street, Bench Street, Castle Street and along the seafront would help bring all these areas together. Bunting is not hugely expensive and would send out a message that it is a whole town event not just for the seafront and the hilltops. It could be used in future summers too as it is in other seaside towns to mark the season. There was bunting for the Lord Warden's ceremony (which I seem to remember DHB provided) but it had 'disappeared' by the time the Tour of Britain cyle race came through the town!
Is it still missing? Is it too late?
    (I know the answer!)
