    I think that was a good idea about the bunting; I also think the Town should have had a bit of a tart-up. With between 15,000 and 20,000 and the Worlds media here, I'm surprised there's no co-ordinated effort.

    We would have still have closed shops obviously, but all these closed shops could have had work done on them to smarten them up, could have been done by the pay-back team.

    Even the Sea Sports Centre, although I appreciate it isn't finished, has weeds growing all around it - giving an awful air of neglect and some of them are now quite high. The railings around it are all over the place and this is on the seafront where the British, French and Italian marquees are. What an embarrassment.
