    It is a big shame though that Paul (Tipple) couldn't make a financial success of it.

    There were intentions to have a French, Italian and British marquee on the seafront, in the end only one marquee was there and that was hard work to fill it. I don't know whether the cost of booking a space in the marquees was too expensive, but people must remember this is Dover not Hampton Court Palace.

    I appreciate that various factors came into play that he could not have accounted for, mostly the weather, but many were put off by the cost of entrance fee at the DOY of £10 and parking of £6.
    I know these were reduced on Sunday, but advance publicity of say £5 entrance fee would have attracted a lot more people - it was almost prohibitive for a family of four or six to go there.
