to a certain extent, yes, but the former garner most of their electoral support from people that do not usually vote.
if there is a close vote between the red and the blues then people will stick to their usual favourites.
john made the point about the sevenoaks bye election, where he claimed that a low turnout helped the far right to gain a council seat.
not true, the turn out was over 31 per cent, higher than usual.
i think you will have a nasty shock in june barry, the european election system actually gives a fairer representation
of total votes cast.
