A little bird told me that a local ex-publican is thinking of opening a micro brewery or micro pub or both, in Dover, location is said to be around the Dolphin Passage area. Any offers?

can't think of a suitable place in that area for those purposes unless they get rid of the "current" residents of the former brewery.

Page 75 of the Dover Express today has a licence application for the "Vine and Hops", 18-19 Market Square which was the Ellie.

Not I. However I have been told in strict confidence who it is. Wild horses will not drag the information out of me.

The same little bird has told me that the new owner is the current owner of Sutton Vale country club. Pub at the front, brew house to the rear?

i heard the same and has to be great news if true.
if someone who owns a highly successful business already wants to invest in the town centre it says something for investor confidence.

Almost correct. The new owner is one of the sons of the owner of Sutton Vale. As I understand it the Ground floor will be a Pub/Bar and the rest of the building will be Back Packers hostel type accommodation. He is not the Brewer (Ripplesteam) but i would guess would stock their wares?
