  Although it is good to be vigilant about this kind of thing, I think this is one of those stories that originates as a hoax e mail. It has been circulating for a number of years all around the world, just place names etc changed. If you type perfume e mail hoax into your search engine it is pretty well documented.
  It was going around where I work and we were told by our security advisors not to pass it on, as although it was good advice it was untrue.
