  According to BBC news Tesco are planning to close their store in Calais blaming the strength of the euro against the pound.
  
  Oddbins Calais has already closed and Sainsbury Calais is closing at the end of this month.
  
  I seem to recollect someone telling me back in the sixties that devaluation would not affect the pound in my pocket?

  As I recall, the owner of Eastenders made his pile and sold the place to a Frenchie The establishment was hated by the locals and it is no surpsrise to hear it has gone.
