i seems that professional drivers are the main victims of the above.
the health protection agency stated that truckers were 5 times more at risk than other people, the bacteria breeds in stagnant warm water.
the answer is quite simple, just add screenwash.
i would imagine that our forum truckers would know that already though.

Quite right Howard. Proper screen-wash, not washing-up liquid! At this time of year, with all the flying bugs committing suicide on my windscreen, the screen-wash barely has time to get stagnant though!
On a similar vein, could I make a polite request to those who squirt their screens with whatever happens to be in the washer bottle? Firstly, check that the nozzles deposit the fluid on the windscreen and don't just spray it over the roof and, secondly, please check who is behind you when you do spray that stuff around. As a motorcyclist (as well as a trucker) I can tell you from first hand experience that a face-full of screen wash is entirely unpleasant and is one of the few things that makes me see red; literally and figuratively.

If at first you don't succeed, use a BIGGER hammer!!
Phil, I use blue screenwash mate, so you should only see blue!

that will put his mind at rest sid.
talking of the motor bicycle people, during the last world cup a few were hit by england flags not being securely attached to their car.
If they were Scottish motorcyclists I'd say "Good shootin' chaps".
