I am planning to give up both Dover Forum and Twitter for Lent. My carer suggests that 'social media' is making me even more bitter and twisted so I hope to return at Easter a much nicer person.
Some say why not give up one or the other rather than both?
This reminds me of when I was in the fifth form at school and a friend of mine told me he was going to give up both cigarettes and 'self pleasuring' for lent.
After a couple of weeks I asked him how he was getting on.
He said he was down to roughly five a day and was hardly smoking at all .........................

Many years ago a devoutly Catholic young Irish lady told me she was giving up cigarettes for Lent. The fact that she had never smoked in her life seemed unimportant.
