Did anyone see on ITV southern news last evening a report about Essex County Council cuttung Lighting Budgets .It showed several shots of my home town Dunmow .TheOld Town Hall and several shots of the shop buildings painted pink and blue etc .A market town just down the road from Stansted Airport .
they have done the self same thing in a few other towns.
they interviewed a chap in south wales a while back, he was able to watch his car broken into and stolen from a few yards away, due to the street lights beding turned off, he could not offer a description of the offenders.
Lot's of money can be saved by government building's had the light's inside turned off once everyone had finished work for the day. and no more floodlight's outside the same building's they are not needed. keep the street light's on but not so many on the motorway's and duel carriage way's as you say car's have headlight's
