Did you see on news the announcements on the trains are going to be a little more lively, Do we realy want this? or just the info, how late train is, any probs etc.
Mixed review on it wot do you think????
I recall a guard who took it on himself to tell passengers as they approached Dover where the delights of Dover were, he was disiplined as it wasn't policy!!!!!!
your thoughts???

I lived in London for many years and you get these dopey initiatives from time to time. But when you are sleepy and miserable on a rainy monday the last this you want is a cheerful sod over the tannoy. The REAL problem people have using trains of any sort, is the total lack of communication of anykind. So just a bit of communication would do for a start and forget the jokes. Thankfully I dont have to commute anymore.

Felt sorry for that guard who had done a lot of homework on the delights of Dover as we came in from the KEARSNEY direction.
But stopped he was.
now we get an automated tape, it sounds so boring,

my favourite memory of the london underground was a guard/driver with a strong carribean accent, telling us where to change.

dis here am leytonstone, do anyone care?
he knew how to play to the gallery.
another time, again at leytonstone,
