    He was my Bandmaster in the Buffs and also at Kneller Hall.He will be remembered as one of the judges of the 1970s and 80s B.B.C. T.V series The Best of Brass.To others he will be the man who wrote Fanfare and Soliloquy,even more will recognise a name that comes up in the credits as the man who conducted the theme music for "Dads Army "with the Coldstream Guards . He join the army like me as aband boy and worked his way up to be the head of the the British Army Music.
