Weather looks fine too.
Even if people can't manage the cleanup, pop along to see the goings on at Pencester

Been nice knowing you :)

looks like it will be a decent turnout at pencester, took this at 1.10 well before most of the volunteers arrived for their hog roast.

Good photo Howard, that Lady was a volunteer from Winchelsea.
We had 7 people help clear Glen Grove and the alleyway at the top of it. We could have done more with more people and probably more time too.
We may go back in a week or two's time to finish off.
I couldn't come down to Pencester as Jean is still very poorly and Jen had work for her Dad to do; some others from our small but hard-working group said they would go down afterwards.
Hope the hog-roast was enjoyable.
Thank you too Sheila.
Lovely day for it.

the hog roast - free today for the hungry volunteers.

Quite a few people suggested that this could become an annual event - with more preparation time I am sure that there could be more volunteers, but with WHPS we already have a working party organised for tomorrow so it is difficult to russle people up 2 days in a row !

sorry to hear that about jean, roger - wish her well from all of us.
in addition to the volunteers at glen grove when i returned home around lunch time there were 3 people with litter pickers in my road and later i saw a lady with a bag of rubbish filling it up down the folkestone road, clearly this idea has captured peoples imagination.

I don't know how they were informed, but people from the Rotary Club volunteered to clear the Clarendon Alleyways, maybe they were litter picking on their return.
