KLM are looking at operating twice a day from Manston to Schipol. As well as providing a link for business and day trips, there is also the potential for connections to the KLM long haul network.
Manston Airport have an online survey to gauge levels of interest in the service:

It could offer easy access flights to Europe & many inTernational destinations without the travel distances to London airports & long security waits.

i cannot see any logical objections to the idea 2 flights in the daytime is no inconvenience to the locals, schiphol is the hub for klm who would have done their homework and can see business customers from east kent eyeing the long haul services from amsterdam.

Sounds very good to me too. Have now also filled in the questionnaire giving it the thumbzzzup. Would be great to see Manston used a bit more for passenger travel. A great shame to see it lying there under used. There is such strong opposition from local residents but surely moderate use could be acceptable.
Pity there is not more enthusiasm all across the region for an expansion. Airports are great wealth creaters.

This would be brillant have only ever flown from Manston once to Nice, but it was O so easy.

When I worked at the Dover Cruise Terminal, one big problem with operations was the late arrival of passengers, due to flight delays or traffic problems on the M25,etc.
I wrote to Virgin Airways, suggesting they fly in American cruise passengers, to Manston Airport. That would eliminate delays almost completely. I did get a response from Mr Branson but it was a negative one, due to some technical issue with the then Manston Operators.
I was told a couple of flights did happen after I left but I have no details of those.

This is sweet music to my ears, not to mention the jobs it would create. Used Manston quite a bit last time around, Dublin(off course) and Amsterdam, I would love it if this comes to fruition

I wonder why this hasn't been done before.
It's a great idea and I have completed the survey. I would like to see more desinations to warmer destinations, even in the Med. - Cyprus, Majorca etc. Many people do love European City destinations too and Amsterdam is a very good start.

As much as we might want this to happen I think it will be short-lived at best. There seems to be little appetite amongst the Thanet residents for development of the airport and only last week there was talk of a high speed rail connection between Dover and Gatwick. As I have said before I feel that Manston is to far from anywhere other than East Kent to be a serious contender for passenger travel.

I still miss the EU Jet service from Manston. I used to use it to both Manchester and Amsterdam and miss it to this day. I really hope KLM go ahead with this.
