  What a good post Paul, the people you refer to are the same ones that bleat we don't manufacture things any more. In the last century most jobs locally have centred around mining, digging tunnels and building harbours, all dangerous and dirty work. Heaven knows what nimbys would have done when we started digging holes at Snowdown, Tilmanstone and Betteshanger all those years ago.
  
  We need to build more power stations and tidal plants to create our own energy rather than being held to ransom in importing it.
