  Governments of all colours have failed to address the structural issues affecting east Kent for a long time. Local MPs have done their best, but the point I was making is that if this was an economic asset in the North there would have been more pressure at ministerial level for a solution. Seems bizarre that there is a Government Commission looking at the need for more runway capacity in the south east, whilst a perfectly good airport is closed. Makes no sense!
