We are working flat out to make Our Kent Miners Festival a community event to remember but we need a bit of help. We have managed to hire 2 big marquees but we need a third. At this present time we cannot fund the third, so I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a marquee we could borrow or hire at a reasonable price? We would take great care with it and it would be covered by Festival Insurance. Below is Press release for Festival. Many Thanks
Kent Miners Festival
The MoveTheMiner Committee are pleased to announce the Kent Miners Festival will be held at Fowlmead Country Park on the 31st August 2009 Bank Holiday Monday from 10am till 5 pm.
Some lucky visitors will be able to travel in style thanks to the East Kent Show Bus & Vintage Bus Running Day, routes and time tables will be available on our website shortly.
Everyone will have a spectacular day out with Mining Exhibitions from Changing Landscapes (National) Local Mining Exhibitions, Miners Reunion, Colin Barnes Vintage Funfair, Kent Air Ambulance, Search & Rescue, Fire & Rescue, music and stage entertainment with brass bands, dance routines and gymnastics. Tug-o-war, Cricket bowling machine, sports and attractions for young and old. Feel free to bring along your picnic chairs/tables and sample the various foods and refreshments we will have on offer.
This will be a Major Event, bringing together the people of our communities and visitors from far & wide to have fun and to remember our Miners and our Mining Heritage. It is hoped that planning will be granted, to move the Statue in time for unveiling at the Festival.
This committee, with your help, are dedicated to turn this Festival into an Annual two day Community Event
More funding is needed for the Statue and we are seeking funding and Sponsors for this years and next years Festival.
