20:1040917The last few weeks, I`ve been coming home from work through the Alkham valley in the early hours, with nothing untoward, except on that night of the blizzard. Anyway, coming through around 1am this morning, there were rabbits everywhere. I`ve seen plenty at all hours of the night over the years, but never as many as this morning. They were scattered all the way through, and just wondered if the snow had kept them in? On a sad note, I passed two dead badgers on the Dover bound side. Any wildlife experts out there?

20:1540918I'm no expert but if they were lying on their backs with their legs in the air, then they were probably dead....
Been nice knowing you :)

23:4940935Your right Colin, this is the time of the great get together, If any Doe aint pregnant yet then they soon will be.
It all coincides with the farmers crops starting to sprout. I'll be out with the rifle soon.
How many of you guys and gals have seen a Red Kite.
I think Iv'e seen about 6 in my life time but coming back from Wales going through Bickinghamshire and towards the M25 I lost count at 48 along side the motorway, they must have just arrived as they where in groups of 2 to 7.
A wonderful sight.
Also saw a large number of Buzzards.

08:3040949I haven't (knowingly) seen a Red-Kite or a Buzzard Ian - only on the TV.

08:3440951On my early morning dog walkies I saw a couple of foxes enjoying themselves (well, the one on top was anyway) at the junction of Widred and Edred Roads. I was amazed at the amount of noise they were making. It must have woken up the residents over a wide area!

09:3040961Ian, that might explain why we saw 10 magpies on our neighbour's roof the other day. In my whole life I have never seen more than three in one go.

22:2541038Lol at Barry W's comment.
Yes foxes do make a racket, we have been woken by them several times in the last week. Recently we heard what sounded like a baby crying outside and got up/dressed/went to investigate. That turned out to be a fox too but it sounded so different from their usual 'barking'.
