NOTE: below are Howard's exchange of emails with the relevent bus company. Chronologically they go from bottom to top, so best read that way. Howards on the case...

I believe this is correct after a conversation with a lady from Stage Coach. All our maps show it as Birch Wood Rise. It's the second turning left after you go over the railway line heading away from Dover, Regards,Sam

many thanks for that reply.
just to clarify, i think you mean that the bus would turn up
malvern road then turn right at birchwood rise into clarendon place.
would be grateful for your confirmation.

www.internet-marketing-kent.co.uk web site.Hello Howard We have taken the larger of our services busses round the number 68 route with the bus inspector and a member of the KCC from transports and got that round fine. We have purchased a band new, low floor narrow service bus especially for the run. Also the council are going to lay down a few double yellow lines around the Maxton mount area to make it easier for vehicles to navigate the narrow roads. The council have asked us to make one slight alteration to the route though and that is instead of going up Clarendon Road they have asked us to use Birch Wood Rise. Hope that this is all of use to you and if you require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact us, Regards,Sam

good afternoon
rumours abound that that the buses you had planned to use on the 68 route are not small enough to negotiate the bends.
if true, is there an alternative route that you plan to take?
thanks in advance

www.internet-marketing-kent.co.uk web site.Hello Mr Mcsweeney We have indeed won the contract for the number 68 bus. We do not have any plans to change the route or time table as it is a KCC contracted route. We will be running the route with the KCC Local transport manager on the 22nd of February before submitting it to the traffic commissioner. If anything comes up then I shall inform you, Regards,Sam
