This is another gem out of my dads box, which I assume he had from new, as he`s in it. Show`s one of the pics I placed on here about Captain Walker`s retirement on the `s.s. Lord Warden`. Anybody remember this magazine at all? More of Dover in it than anywhere else.
Winter 1958 edition

Thanks Bern, me too. You`re never too old as they say. I forgot about this magazine, just got so much stuff to sort out, but I`m getting there.

Been nice knowing you :)
"Fasten with toothpicks", blimey, we've come a long way since this advert, we now call them cocktail sticks. I wonder if that's a Posh Barry effect?

What a fabulous magazine, Colin. Great stuff. Great nostalgia, great ferry adverts and pictures of the ships, such as the Maid Of Kent.
Keep up the good work!

Ref #5. In case you can`t read the small print, the rates for cars are based on overall length. Up to 11ft costs £3-3-0, 14ft 6" costs £6-6-0 and over 16ft 6" costs £13-2-0. I`m not sure on car lengths, but the lengths and prices seem to differ quite a bit. I assume at that time, with limited space than today, everything was based on length. Is it all the same rate today? P.S. Thanks Andy.

Size has always mattered Colin.

A nice picture here which I`ve had to crop still, but shows the MAID of KENT in dock. The full size picture is down the harbour boat tour place, along with many other fine picture`s, and there`s also a small cafe in case you didn`t know. What a pity those cargo ships don`t come in now.
