As I said about the last video posted; I had access to a lot more. This is the first, as it takes a while to convert etc. I intend to add more.
Anyway, here is the first one called 'The Land that Archie Ruled' with a rather lovely soundtrack by Paul Sherman (Dover Skiffle Band).

Not so much of Dover but certainly some Dovorians.
I've also reloaded the last one so that it does not stall at 6 minutes.
The next one I will do called 'Whistle Stop' has no sound but has the names 'M.Robson' and 'P.Amos' in the title credits. Any relation to Forumites?
Thank you I enjoyed watching this I wonder where they all are now ?

M. Robson might be Margaret Robson, P Amos(Pat?) also rings a bell from when we were in Tilmanstone, if I remember he was to do with the cricket team and was quite elderly back in the 90's.

Yes, M. Robson would be Margaret Robson, my neighbour, who used to teach at Astor. She would be interested to see the film again, no doubt.

That's my mum! She was involved with the making of some of the films from Astor in the 70s and had them put onto DVD recently. She has a copy, thanks Kathy, and I was watching it with her the other week.

there's no sound. My understanding is that any sound was recorded separately and then edited in so it may be that either there was none or it has been lost. There is a film record of a school trip to Corsica on this DVD too. I'll try and get a list of what else is on there and post it on here; there could be many familiar faces!
To clarify my earlier post; some years ago my mum got the separate films put onto one reel and, more recently, the school produced a dvd for a member of staff who was leaving and gave my mum a copy as she had expressed an interest. I remember that film making was very popular at Astor but whether they all survived or not I do not know.

In which case Mark, it seems it must be the same DVD. They are wonderful videos and I can only thank your mum for them.
As I've said I will try to get the rest on YouTube once I convert them. Talking to a few people around town and getting emails, it seems many people are still knocking about. Paul Sherman has been in contact and the girl in the first video is the nice lady in Aldi that always lends me a token when I forget a £1 for my trolley!
