18:2534543I know they said it will not open till the end of Jan/of next year,I still have a feeling we coud see it open aweek before Xmas or by the new year, BUT what a help it will be for the town centre we will see more of the Public coming to our town,we shop at Morrinsons Folkestone or Canterbury, now we can shop back in Dover and that is great,I was the first to tell you all that morrinsons was coming to Dover and even at that time in the papers it said "Is this one of vic Matcham storys and how does he know.well I can tell you now how i got to know first,i was working on a site in london and got talking to some lads who was going to help fit the shop out in Dover, and they told me it will happen vic for some time they will say no but in the end it will happen they had already sigh up to do the inside work,.
So there you have it thats how I got to know first.
The same way also how i found out that Burlington house will not come down for some years yet.

18:5634548I was talking to a man in a pub in London whose brother has a friend whose wife serves in a Morrisons shop where a man who prints leaflets for a guy in West Ham frequents and they told him that UKIP didn't have a chance of winning the seat in Dover.

22:4334560asda are committed keith, you may well be right about tescos, competition from a town centre supermarket offering free parking too may not be to their taste.

07:4334575I suspect it will be peanuts compared to potential losses from Morrisons.

11:4034584I shop at Morrisons in Canterbury on a weekly basis - like Bern, I will only set foot in Tesco if there is absolutely no alternative - and have to say that I find Morrisons better in almost every aspect (and their diesel is 6p per litre cheaper than Tesco), not the least of which is their customer service ethic, streets ahead. I'm so pleased that Morrisons is nearly finished, it feels at long last as though the first steps have been taken into rejuvenating our town - pity they won't be selling fuel, though.

12:0434585Since my run in with Tesco last year over an H&S issue (I have three emails from head office saying the manager would contact me, he never has) I won't set foot in the place. We did try Morrisons in Canterbury several times but found it untidy. The ends of the "gondolas" were full of partly emptied boxes making it difficult to get around. We settled for ASDA, like Morrisons the petrol is the same price. Only problem is that the shelf stackers have never heard of the phrase "excuse me" or "sorry", they just barge past. Still it's better than being nearly blinded in Tesco!

13:5134591Would be nice to have an olde worlde precinct selling everything at a reasonable price, though allowing a few pennies extra on a few items, to compete with the big stores.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
