    A Sad Tale....so far:

We were very keen to see how the new MyFerryLink ferries were operating, so off we jolly well went last friday. My Ferry Link, which as we know is Seafrance in all but name, are of course back in action with the two Seafrance ships of old..the Rodin and the Berlioz.

Friday morning approx 8.30 or so we boarded, all staff were very pleasant and receptive, but alas alas..there were only 8 other cars onboard, it was devastatingly empty. No trucks, no vans, no freight. It was like the Marie Celeste on all the decks, nobody about..the bars were empty, the food waited in the restaurant..but nobody came.

The pictures above were taken long after departure, mid channel, so are an accurate depiction.

I took a picture of the ship from Calais beach later and I felt sad for their plight. The efforts of the workers co-operative should be congratulated I would have thought. In Calais businessmen are not optimistic about MFL's future either, one giving them just a year. But the ships are gorgeous, spotlessly clean, revamped refurbished and ready for the customer..but not many takers so far.

We went on the Rodin both ways. The ship returning saturday afternoon had 16 cars, one truck and one van...but still hugely empty.

I hope to see things improve for them.
