23:2636325As in my last topic, I was up London all day, and when I visited WHS, as usual, I glanced through all the transport magazine`s and then into the science section, (Scientific American magazine, Astronomy magazine etc), to see any worth buying, and I sometimes glance through the National Geographic magazine as they produce many great pictures of nature. Lo and behold, a special issue relating to a couple of recent topics on here. I`ve had a quick glance, and the picture`s are stunning and there is much interesting reading, which I shall start on tonight. You don`t have to be religious to enjoy this magazine. Buy it, read it and then come onto this post again and we can all have a good conversation on it. £5.99, but well worth it.

Why would you want to wipe your feet on it? At that price a doormat would be more economical.

21:5336464I`ve read nearly half this magazine, and it has left me confused on a few things, though still interesting. Not going to have any religious comments on this post, enough said on the other`s. Some good photograph`s of the geography of the area, and also the human presence. I would like to ask though, what would the human race be like today, if we hadn`t progressed beyond the loin cloth, and spent all our time as many in the middle east do today? Hasn`t changed for 2,000 years and more. Not a religious question this, just on our species, IF......

07:2936481One of the most facsinating things on this Earth is just how diverse we all are! Nations and Islands have developed at such different paces and are at such different stages of development. I am not always sure how much is "progress" and how much such development works i our favour, though. What is gripping is how geography and physics and chemistry impact on that development - one of the single biggest factors in cultural development is the weather!!

15:5136533That`s right Bern, and the Eskimo`s would be looking how primitive we all are in our current weather condition`s.

21:3936610It seems to be acknowledged now from this learned magazine that we originated from Africa, (the scientific view for many years). Does this mean Adam and Eve were black, or are they no longer recognised as former beings?

23:0636637that is true colin about originating from africa.
i remember about 20 years ago that some black people from kenya or ethiopia claimed to be the lost tribe of israel.
much to the chagrin of the children of judah they had evidence to prove it and were relocated in the land of milk and honey.
