Ah yes..well you see Howard in 1910 or thereabouts a gentlemans apparatus was very important to him. In those days you didnt have other distractions to blight your priorities, like television radio or cinema, so a gentlemans apparatus was all. During the long long winter evenings, and they were long, a gentleman would spend time tweaking polishing rubbing and manipulating his apparatus to ensure that it remained in tip top condition...while he awaited the arrival of spring with all its sap!
Then with the arrival of spring he would canter out to take the light breezes in the park and sometimes even venture into Rotten Row where he could watch the fillies in all their finery...but even then, his apparatus would never be far from his thoughts
