New adverts

one in alkham, the other is the hungarian one near the seafront.
good to see that businesses are aware of the viewing figures here. - 25 June 2009 06:5124401Yes Howard two new ads..well the Carpathian is newish but The Marquis is very new. I believe the ads are just short term ones. They were sold by posh Barry WS and the artwork is by yours truly. Every little helps to try and meet the financial obligations to keep the site running and the businesses in turn get lots of exposure at low cost..
Anyone else at all like to advertise then email me in the first instance.

I havent tried the Carpathian yet but I hope its going well for them. Its situated on a corner outside the town centre so people have to make the effort to go down there. Lets hope that people do, as its always good to see a thriving commercial dining out type of town.
The Marquis is very upmarket, as I understand it, and situated upthere in the Alkham Valley. Easily reached by motorised vehicle. I havent been there either but hope to in the near future. The Marquis goes for 'fine dining' on a grand scale.
For the technical guys...the ads were done on the old Picture It system, that old Miocrosoft program long since abandoned by Microsoft but still until recently used by me. I am endeavouring to replace it with JASC Paint Shop Pro 7 as we talked about elsewhere. Can work the photographs with the new program now, but cant do ads successfully with it yet. The Marquis is very upmarket, with upmarket prices too. I can't even afford to go and look.
Good luck to them though; it's good to have these quality places here - like the Allotment, another dining gem.

- 26 June 2009 14:5324530Just come back from a visit to The Marquis and I must say it is absolutely fabulous. Had a tour around the restaurant and the hotel accomodation, the interior design is very tasteful and of a very high standard indeed. They have 5 en-suite bedrooms and two additional cottages nearby. One thing that PaulB would be interested in, soon they are having a new wine produced from their own vinyard next to their cottages in the Alkham Valley, which is a 2 minute drive from the restaurant. Click on to their banner advert and you will be pleasantly surprised with the menu pricing. I will definitely try to lunch there soon
