    Ah good post there Ed..capturing the Bolands there in deep ..ahem..editorial chat about evolution revolution and even petrol pollution!..with BB herself all agog on the right hanging on to my every word...that'll be the day!!

    But yes interesting chat we had about the loss of the re-created Forties Street. I never saw it myself as it was mostly before my time here in Dover but sad that they let it go for a song. But perhaps they had nowhere to house it or something while development was taking place.

    I think the picture that amazed me most and there were quite a few, was the pier built out into the sea roughly opposite to where Im living now. Would be great to have it these days...but would it survive this terrible weather? after all the sea eventually claimed the one in Brighton. The other item of note was that the seafront appeared to be much more in use as a general thoroughfare for promenading and what have you....would be nice to see it return to something like that, as its so underused.
