Norfolkline changes to DFDS Seaways
- 4 July 2010 13:0359037Rebranding the three Maersk D's has commenced. There will be a unified brand for all the DFDS constituent parts, including Norfolkline. The shipping side will be known as DFDS Seaways and the trailer business will become DFDS Logistics. The ships will have a dark blue hull with DFDS Seaways emblazoned on the side, white superstructure, and a dark blue funnel with the DFDS white maltese cross in a circle.
Maersk Delft made a start on the saturday night layover in Dunkerque West. Scaffolding was erected around the funnel and the two Maersk stars removed. The funnel will be painted in DFDS colours whilst on service during the week. Maersk Dover, with a shorter layover, made a start by painting the lower part of the funnel in DFDS dark blue.
The ships will be renamed Dover Seaways, Delft Seaways and Dunkerque Seaways in due course.

Second one down is the Maersk D's. I expect they will wait until the next scheduled refit to repaint the hulls but are making a start by repainting all the funnels in DFDS colours.
Couple of photos below of the funnel on the Maersk Dover, where they have painted the bottom section in DFDS dark blue and will probably put scaffolding up and do the remainder on the next saturday layover.
This is the Maersk Delft passing yesterday with the Maersk stars removed and the scaffolding left up to repaint the funnel in service. The three ships are going to look decidedly odd for the next week or two. Believe the name change is due to be conducted on 12th July.
